Tracking the location of another person isn't something done just in the movies any more. Today, many cell phones include GPS and locater devices. The devices originally were designed to help 911 operators, but now, many people are enjoying the ability to track their teenager's whereabouts or maybe even their spouse. GPS tracking is also beneficial if you lose your cell phone.
What is GPS? GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It is a receiver that is now put into cell phones and over a hundred million people or more within the United States alone have the device. Cell phone carriers Verizon, Sprint and Nextel have been installing GPS receivers in almost every cell phone it now releases. Motorola and BlackBerry were the first GPS enabled phones in the United States.
To use your GPS system, you should contact your network wireless carrier to determine what types of programs or services they offer. Services or applications will often depend on the type of cell phone and the capabilities of the service provider. But they include:

· Wherify - This system can be installed in a watch, for instance, and monitored by a cell phone. This system is used primarily to track children and the elderly.
If you are worried about somebody tracking you without your permission, remember somebody cannot do this without your consent. The subscriber must give permission and the cell phone itself must be enabled for tracking. If you are tracking your teenager and are worried they can avoid your observations by simply turning off their phone, know many tracking devices will record location within the cell phone so that it can be downloaded later. This is called passive tracking but is not a common feature built into cell phones - therefore you would have to ask your provider if it is included.
How does the GPS system track your phone? This too depends. If the system you are using cannot find an accurate GPS location, it may record the nearest cell tower. You will want to check with your provider and software application to determine if they use tower locations. There is also what is called GeoFencing. GeoFencing enables the cell phone to start tracking when it has entered or exited a predefined region, which avoids unnecessary tracking when your people are close to home, office or school. An alert is sent to you when their phone crosses a virtual fence.
To use GPS location systems, it will cost you extra. You could be charged a setup/activation fee and network access subscription. In addition, you could also be charged for each location report or be allotted a limited number of reports and be charged for overages.

My GPS Brain Chip

Lots of people have GPS devices, I even have one for my bicycle. It was rather expensive, but it is totally high-tech, it's one of the coolest things you've ever seen. Many people who do a lot of hiking, have personal GPS devices and they take it with them while they hike so they know how far they've gone, how far they have to go, their estimated time of arrival based on the speed they're walking, and therefore they never get lost. That makes sense right?
Sure it does, and park rangers love it, thus they don't have to go out and search for people or rescue them because they know where they are, they can find their own way back. Even people who go off the trail and bushwhack through the forest can eventually find a clearing where they can get the satellite and then know where they are. It keeps people from being lost and walking around in circles until they are so fatigued they just quit, and therefore have to be rescued.
Now then, recently our think tank was talking about all this, and the next generation of future of GPS devices. We all agreed that it would probably, in the future, be a brain chip which could be implanted, and one of our think tank members joked; "where is my GPS brain chip, I knew I was missing something, where the hell am I?"
We all laughed, but it's not too far-fetched considering Moore's Law and the speed of our technology, and how it is getting smaller and smaller. I mean come on already, they have GPS watches, personal devices, suction cup dashboard versions, and I can't even get the latest GPS Brain Chip? Why not, we have all the technology already.
Further, as we thought about this concept we decided that a small overlay could be attached to the lens of your eye, between the layers of the retina, and it could make itself visual whenever you wanted to use it, and it would put up a micro-screen and GPS display.

Android Handphone For Kids

Android Handphone for kids has become the latest topic among parents. From simple games to creative scribbles to educational story telling Apps, your kids are definitely spoilt for choice. We were lucky to be able to receive a free Motorola Android Handphone a month ago. Now that we have 4 handphones, we decided to let the kids have fun with this free phone and you can never imagine what they did with it.
Just on the first day of owning the new handset, the kids have downloaded, with our approval, more than 20 Android Apps which were meant for kids in a short time span of 10 minutes! Android Handphone are considered to be too sophisticated for some generation Y, yet they seemed like a piece of cake to the kids in generation Z.
Seriously, even my husband and I have some issues with how these Android Handphone works, but my elder son just needed less than ten minutes and found the solution. Amazing!
Ever since my sister bought the iPhone, the kids had been playing the Apps on her iPhone. We were rather surprise to find iPhone games in Android Market too. The kids downloaded Angry Birds, Pizza, Restaurant, PuzPenguin, Coin Frenzy, Tap Galaxy, Flick Fishing, Ninja Free, Tap Resort, Heads Will Roll, Ranch Rush, Tap Birds Extinct, Air Control Lite, aTilt 3D Labyrinth, Break The Blocks Lite, Disney Puzzle, Hangman, Find Differences, Paper Toss, Papijump, Ranging Thunder 2, excitebike and the list goes on. Among all, both my 5 and 7 year old boys love to play Ranging Thunder 2.
The above Android Apps are free and as you can tell, they are mainly games. Yet, there are many Android Handphone Apps that are really popular among the kids, which are educational.
